This Military Wife Lost 33 Pounds in 90 Days with P90X3!



Meet Shari P.! She participated in The Beachbody Challenge and won the $500 Daily Prize for July 25th!
Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
I am a military wife and mom of two beautiful boys. After my second son was born, I suffered from mild depression and was trying to keep my head above water while my husband was overseas, and with an active four year old and an infant that wouldn't sleep. I was tired, my eating habits were not wonderful, and I struggled to motivate myself to get back in shape, even though I knew deep down I desperately wanted to. I had every excuse at my disposal:  I was tired, I had no time, I was solo parenting, I was working full time, and I was making my way through graduate classes.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
I wanted energy back to keep up with my kids, I wanted to get back to healthier eating habits, I wanted to feel like a younger version of myself, and honestly, I was not willing to buy new clothes. I looked in my closet and tried on a few items, or attempted to at least. I told myself that things needed to change, as buying bigger clothes was not an option. I am also coming up on thirty, and I set a goal for myself to enter my thirties in the best shape of my life. My husband began his fitness journey a year earlier, and he is a daily reminder of what hard work and dedication can do.
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program?
My greatest challenge was not believing that I could change my body. I went into the program with weak knees and the inability to complete one push-up. I thought genetics would prevail and no amount of exercise and clean eating would help. I am so happy to say I was wrong, P90X3 challenged me and made me realize I am capable of much more than I gave myself credit for. I enjoy learning about fitness and clean eating and love how happy it makes me to be able to share my ideas and knowledge with others. I am so thankful I took that first step, for it truly is the hardest step you will ever take, but the journey that ensues is one that will forever change your life.
Which achievements are you proud of?
I am forever changed. My reward has been going into my closet and wearing all of my old clothes that haven’t fit in what seems like forever. I am proud that I never gave up and I continue to push myself beyond my perceived limits. I crave working out now and look forward to it. I am proud that I changed my outlook and overcame depression without the use of medication.
How did your Team Beachbody Coach support you on your journey?
His passion for motivating others inspires me. He understands the challenges individuals face in their daily lives, because as a member of the US Air Force, he understands that life is never the same from one day to the next. My coach keeps his team as a top priority in his life and selflessly continues to support and challenge each of us.

Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
My life before the Ultimate Reset and ChaLEAN Extreme is now a blur. I look back at my before pictures and I don’t recognize who that person was. I think about how unhappy I was with myself and how I just let myself go. I felt that I didn’t have the time or energy to care about my health, or how I looked and felt, so I just ate what I wanted without thinking about the consequences and damage I was doing to my body. I had no motivation or energy to exercise. I just kept telling myself that most people don’t lose the pregnancy weight from having kids right away. The problem was that my second child was going on 5 years of age and I looked heavier than ever. I dedicated all of my free time to my kids to be the best mother to them possible. I cooked them fresh, nutritious meals everyday so they can grow up strong and healthy. I didn’t realize that the best gift I could ever give them was to take care of myself to ensure my health and be around to take care of them.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
I was inspired to make a change one day at work. I am a nurse in the emergency department and cared for a 37-year old patient that woke up with a severe headache, arm weakness, and difficulty speaking. She was a mother of 3, inactive, overweight and arrived that day with dangerously high blood pressure. She was diagnosed with a stroke. I witnessed her cry as she expressed her fears of the uncertainty of her future and ability to care for her young children. I ended my 12 hour shift that day realizing that with my current lifestyle it could have been me laying in that hospital bed. I was scared and knew I had to make a change. My sister had struggled with weight loss in the past and had recently completed the Ultimate Reset with amazing results.
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge?
I had no concept of portion control. Ultimate Reset taught me to measure everything. My 1 cup of rice was actually 2 cups. And I realized I was just as full with 1 cup. I was also not drinking enough water. In the evening I would try to play catch up with little success and only drinking 1/4 of what i should be drinking. The Ultimate Reset taught me to drink throughout the day. I never leave the house without my water bottle these days.
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
My life since has had a complete makeover. I am proud of my accomplishments and love who I see in pictures and the mirror today. I bought my first size 2 dress in 12 years. I never thought I would see that size again because after all, who weights less than they did in college? The weight loss gave me the motivation to continue with my journey. Most people lose enthusiasm and often quit a program because they don’t see results right way and get discouraged. With this program you not only see results right away, you feel amazing. I felt better than I had felt before and wanted to continue with my health transformation, so for the first time in my life I started an exercise program: ChaLEAN Extreme.
How did participating in a Challenge Group help you reach your goals? How did your group support you and keep you accountable?
My husband and one of our couple friends did the Reset together. Instead of barbecue fatty greasy burgers with beers we had a nice night out on our deck. We grilled amazing salmon with fresh herbs with lemon and mint infused water. To our surprise we felt full after our first reset meal and had energy to kick the soccer ball with the kids. Normally we would be too bloated to move after drinking and eating greasy food. Doing this together definitely helped everyone because we were there to support each other and the temptation was not something we needed to worry about since we all ate the same delicious food.
How did your Team Beachbody Coach support you on your journey?
My Coach was my rock through this entire journey. She helped me with the shopping list and encouraged me to stick to the program. The food prepping ahead of time was the best advice she could have given me because my long days working in the emergency room left me with very little time to cook!

How You Can Use P90X3® to Reach a Variety of Fitness Goals

Whatever your goals, there's a good chance that P90X3 is the right solution. More than just a weight-loss or fitness program, it's a training system that can help you reach your dreams, no matter what they are. Like its iconic predecessors' P90X® and P90X2®, it's a blend of training styles that fit together like pieces of a puzzle, allowing vast versatility. What makes it different is that it gets you there in half the time.
Starting with this article, we'll take a look at how you can use P90X3 to reach your specific fitness goals, whether that's getting ripped, lean, big, small, improve in a sport, activity, or just get better at life.

P90X3 is 4 Programs in One

Classic, Lean, and Doubles will be familiar to those who've done P90X. They are the workout rotations that came with the original, each targeting different goals. A mass rotation was added later, due to popular demand, and this has been built into P90X3.
While each provides quick results, they target different physiological niches. Classic is a balance of strength and cardio work. Lean is more cardio-focused, while Mass, as you might guess, is the opposite. Doubles is a next-level rotation for those with a higher fitness level who want to put in more time and want their results as quickly as possible.
These four options cover the majority of our customers' goals, but we didn't stop there. Unlike P90X, which was designed to be done after Power 90 or an equivalent program, we wanted X3 to be available to anyone. So we added yet another element or, as the saying goes, "But wait, there's more!"

Modifications for Everyone

Every move in P90X3 has a modified version that's not only easier, but is also more suited to those with physical limitations. As in the original, these mods are specifically designed so that you can ease into the program at your own pace, only P90X3's modifications are especially introductory. This ramp-you-up approach also provides entry and exit points if you've taken breaks and/or had an injury, so you can continually advance no matter how fit, unfit, or limited you are.

P90X3 Fits Your Agenda

Whatever your hobbies, X3 can be molded to fit them. Whether you like to golf, fly fish, dance, or do Ironman triathlons, there's a way to seamlessly insert P90X3 into your activity-specific training and/or playing schedule, allowing you to continue to engage in outside activities while you're improving your fitness base. Because the program is segmented to target different systems in your body separately (Muscle Confusion™), it's more easily plugged into a variety of schedules and agendas.

Plus, an "Intuitive" Nutrition Plan

The P90X3 nutrition plan teaches you how to eat, based on your performance, and is just as versatile as the workouts. This is different from the more structured plans of X and X2 and you can easily adapt it based on your fitness backgrounds and nutritional needs. The result is the guide trains you in "intuitive eating." Essentially, it simplifies everything you thought was complicated about dieting and allows you to simply eat, listen to your body, and adjust based on performance.

How Does P90X3 Work in Half the Time?

There were two big developments that allowed this to happen. First, a lot of people did both P90X and P90X2 and have been providing us with years of feedback. That alone would allow us to build a better mousetrap, but we've got new science, too.
Second, over the past few years, a lot of studies began to emerge that showed the power of the first 30 minutes of exercise. While it doesn't discount the benefits of training longer for some people, it does shed light on how to build a program for time-crunched individuals who don't necessarily need pro-athlete performance from their bodies. Here's an excerpt from an article I wrote on the effects of shorter bouts of exercise.
"Your body has an emergency response to exercise. When you begin, no matter what you're doing, you burn glycogen for fuel. Once your body figures out that you aren't in an emergency, it begins to conserve by shifting to body tissue, primarily fat stores, for energy. It was once assumed that training during this "fat burning" period was optimal for weight loss. Now we know it's the opposite. If you take advantage of the glycogen window by training hard (and smart so you don't get hurt) you can alter your body's metabolism—the key to changing your body composition—quickly and efficiently."
Beyond just that, P90X3 has retained the muscle confusion and integration training aspects of P90X and P90X2. All the fancy training jargon, like the specificity of adaptation, super-compensation, progressive overload and post-activation potentiation are still hard at work. Only refined.
The bottom line is that if you're serious about training, P90X3 should be a component in your fitness arsenal no matter what your end goals are. Next in this series we'll take a look at the basics of how to use X3's Muscle Acceleration system to do your specific bidding, starting with weight loss.

Kelly Z. lost over 100 lbs.!!




Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?

I have always been an overweight person. I am the ultimate yo-yo dieter! All my life I have been up, down, and never happy. I always ate bad foods and couldn't understand why I always gained the weight back. I have now lost 115 pounds and I'm still going strong!

What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
In 2007, I started Turbo Jam and lost a bit of weight before my wedding. I loved that program and instantly fell in love with Chalene! After the wedding, my husband and I started having kids right away. Two kids later I was up to 274 pounds. I had to change! I felt so drained and sick all the time. "Wow, way to go Mom! What a great role model!!! NOT." Now, my kids inspire me everyday to be my best.

What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge?
The biggest challenge for me was not believing that it was possible. I never thought that I could do this. Beachbody has changed/saved my life!! These results are from completing Turbo Jam, Turbo Fire and, P90X. Amazing programs!! Fitness excites me!!

What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
Omg Tony is the best! So motivating and so funny!

Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
Ooohhhh the results.... My body has changed in so many ways! And it is still changing! I feel so strong and powerful. I am so proud of myself that I can complete a video without stopping or feeling like I am going to die. I have never felt so good in my life.

How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
My self confidence is through the roof now! I am no longer feeling like I need to hide from anything. I can play tag with my 3 year old son and not have to sit and rest. I can outlast him!!! That's what it's all about. My kids. I am healthy so I can be the best Mom I can be!

Christina T. and Cancer

Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?*
I did not like what I saw in the mirror. Every time I went somewhere it was an ordeal to get dressed. It would literally take me 30 minutes to pick out something to wear that looked good on me. Most of the time I was wearing maternity clothes. I had a second baby a little over than 7 months ago. I was determined not to hold on to my weight, like I did with my first son. Between the boys, who are 21 months apart, I never got out of maternity clothes. My self confidence was low, I was borderline depressed, and miserable. Prior to having my children I was relatively fit. I played basketball all my life. I even played at the collegiate level (NAIA). As much as I loved being a mother to 2 adorable boys, I was hating myself.

What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?*
When I began my journey, I wanted to feel good about myself. I love my boys, but I wanted to love myself again. Being exhausted and miserable was not who I wanted to be. It was not good for my boys and it certainly was affecting my relationship with my husband. As I progressed in my new lifestyle of eating clean, working out, and drinking Shakeology; I noticed a bump on my arm. I had it investigated and learned that it was cancer. Had I not lost the weight I lost with T25, I may not have noticed it in such an early stage. After my 2 surgeries, I was inspired by my coach, who was diagnosed with cancer the same week, to keep going. She was my inspiration, and I began the 21 Day Fix after I was cleared. My coach changed, and saved, my life. Had I waited any longer, the chances of my Sarcoma spreading to my lungs was highly likely.

What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge?*
During my round with T25 my greatest challenge was making the commitment, but my coach Katy Ursta believed in me and helped me change. With her support of guiding me to eat clean and motivate me to workout, made me successful. After my surgery and learning I had cancer and required another surgery, I found myself getting into bad eating habits, and being lazy with my workouts. Katy was my inspiration to keep going because she was doing the same, even though she too had been diagnosed with cancer. She helped me realize that being committed to my health in a difficult time would give me the best chance possible in my fight against Sarcoma. I owe my life to my coach because I would not be cancer free right now, had I not detected the tumor early. So Beachbody does offer something that other companies don't have and that is, real coaches that are dedicated to making a difference and saving lives. The support and motivation coaches provide is key to staying committed.

What in particular did you like about the program you chose?*
The 21 Day Fix is a fabulous program. The nutrition guide is fool proof. I was able to incorporate the guide before I could physically do the workouts. I love that the workouts are all around 30 minutes, including warm up and stretch. These shortened workouts are perfect for a mom squeezing in a workout while the kids nap. I also enjoyed the simplicity of the workouts along with the variety. Lastly, I love the 10 minute abs. It is something that you can ad on when a little extra time presents itself.

Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?*
After using the 21 Day Fix, I have tightened and toned my body. I no longer fit in the clothes I wore before I got married. They are now too big on me. I am in the best shape and health of my life.

How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?*
The 21 Day Fix has taught me portion control. When it comes to getting healthy and in shape, nutrition is key, and the 21 Day Fix gives you the tools to learn how to eat properly. The Fix has changed my nutrition even though I had practiced clean eating. It helped me understand exactly what I needed to fuel my body. As a result, I feel confident to get back into a bikini for our summer vacation. My confidence when I walk into a room is amazing. I do not feel conscious about the clothes I put on. I can look in the mirror and love what I see.

How did participating in a Challenge Group help you reach your goals? How did your group support you and keep you accountable?
As a competitor, I did not want to be that person that failed. So that was one motivation. The group definitely helped me be successful. They helped keep me on track, but they also helped me realize we all have our moments and it is OK. I think when you do it alone, many people have a moment of weakness that turns into days and eventually they quit the program. Being in the group, made me pick myself up the next day if I missed a workout or did not eat clean. I never reverted to my old habits for more than a day.

How did your Team Beachbody® Coach support you on your journey?
She is the whole reason why I went ahead and took the challenge. She said she would support me through the process and she did. I credit my success to her, because without her I never would have started. Without her I would not have eaten clean. Without her I would not have lost the weight and inches that I did. She inspired me to stick with my workouts even when it was tough mentally, physically, and emotionally.

How did a Beachbody Supplement or Nutritional Product or Program (such as Shakeology® or Beachbody Ultimate Reset®) support your transformation? What are the greatest benefits you gained? Did you see benefits to your energy, sleep, mood/mental clarity, digestion/regularity?
